We wanted to get in touch and let you know what we have planned for the Macpac Motatapu under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights). Firstly, the safety of our competitors, spectators, volunteers, contractors and staff is our number one priority.
As you are probably aware, we are very lucky to have over 3,500 competitors at our event and we assume everyone brings at least one support person, possibly more, so we quickly rise in numbers, which we think is an awesome thing! We love welcoming you all and these happy people make our event come to life and bring about our famous camaraderie and fun atmosphere. This means though, that we will be adhering to the vaccine mandate, everyone (over 12 years and 3 months) on the event site, from competitors, support people, volunteers, contractors and staff, will be required to have a valid Vaccine Pass to allow us to operate under the Government Framework.
We are working through the logistics of verifying Vaccine Passes at registration, but rest assured we will let you know what the plan is. For now though, if you have a vaccine pass (or will have a vaccine pass) by the event, you don't have to do anything at this stage. We will send you more information on how we will be processing this at registration, as we work through the finer details.
For our competitors who have chosen not to be vaccinated, we respect your decision and ask for you to contact us on email@example.com before the 31 December 2021.
We realise that these are unprecedented times and hope you are all staying safe and we hope to see you on 5th March for an epic event!
